We will do lots of formal analysis (looking at things) Class is more important, don"t skip it ever. We are learning how to put images into words (a sort of translating ) This class is all about being methodical, don"t skip steps. Go over notes later with a red pen and mark anything you"re unsure of so that you can ask it in class. Don"t use the pictures on sakai simultaneously with your notes, rather just use the notes and try to recreate the images in your mind, then check sakai. This is a much more active way of learning. Always ask yourself why we are looking at an image, it should be because it leads to larger themes. We will be going about this class inductively. Central greece/mainland greece - the centrally located mainland including cities such as athens. Southern greece - the peloponessos (pelops = hero), names after hero.
