Choosing Effective Visuals

● 5 C’s of Visual Support → must focus on ONE idea:

○ 1. Concentration:

■ concentrate all the data that you want to present

● what exactly do I want my audience to know?

○ 2. Clarity:

■ each visual should be perfectly clear from the back of the room

■ Format:

● Topic Headers

○ 36 Points

● Bullets

○ 32 Points

● Sub-Bullets

○ 28 Points

■ Simple color scheme

■ Avoid decoration

■ Embrace white space

■ Use white background with dark text

● in the U.S., we prefer a well lit room when looking at slides so this

combination is the best view

■ Do NOT need a company logo on every slide

○ 3. Consistency:
