Tendencies of farmers; french culture and french identity. In politics, every year in paris there"s la salon d"agriculture. A part of paris is transformed into a giant farm; everyone goes but mostly farmers. Farmers are very vocal especially when they"re angry. Reasons why french agriculture was behind great britain and germany in the 1960s: demographics and/with self-regulation of birth. There were a lot of hunger and famine throughout the country. They had many children and while people in germany and britain left their country because it was being overpopulated by heading to the us. People in france remained in france regardless of the country being overpopulated. Idea: not to have too many children because you wouldn"t be able to take care of them and once the parents died when the things were divided it would be divided in so many ways. Because of this, there was never a need to improve the agriculture.
