Conclusion: criminal justice reform and the framing of social problems. Just providing answers to ^ aren"t that useful- might not apply to the future. So, we"ve developed a critical toolkit : questions to ask and aspects to consider in trying to understand representations of crime and justice as they emerge. Who bene ts: con ict (theory, boundaries, race/racism. How are we affected: not direct effects, not fear, in a simple or direct way, instead- framing. At least one of ^ issues resonates with the majority of people, meaning satisfaction with the current system in general is low: possibly setting up an opportunity for change. This ^ has generated a lot of excitement, and prior to the election, the beginnings of a bipartisan effort. Focus on different problems: ef cacy, harm to individuals/communities, injustice and bias, cost. Leads to very different solutions: we saw this ^ play out in the presidential election.
