There is an even lower level, the outcasts (non hindu christians, muslims) Jati =color the correct denomination of these social categories that we know as castes indivs with lighter skin (aryans) were placed socially above indivs of a darker skin (dravidian), the original inhabitants of the subcontinents. Mundane tasks fell into other castes (war, trade, crafts)
