Document Summary
Author has larger amount of work under their belt. Written a lot of published successful works, whether it be books, essays, scholarly articles, etc. Writers are more common, people who just write casually. Technical writers are not authors; authors are more honorable, in a sense. Our common ideas about originality: originality vs plagiarism. All works are technically copies of previous works, nothing is truly original (porter) Everything comes from each other, and people just have their own styles on certain things. Plagiarism is word-for-word copying, which people have stopped doing for the most part; people have been smartly paraphrasing, taking their own spin on someone else"s work. Sometimes using other people"s works in your own spin, directly referencing another work, makes yours more memorable and original , in a sense. Texts not only refer to, but contain other texts.
