Info 6250 - lecture 22 spring mvc practical projects. We need to have a non-default package for our classes. There are 11 ways to make a controller. Portlets are java classes that are used to aggregate. We can have iframes and servlets inside it. In a portal, we have portlets having contents from different sources like gmails, youtube, weather notifications, etc. If multiple classes are repeated, first is portlet. To get to the form, we need to take get method. In the form, we use post to go to the next page. For json, return type will be void or modelandview. Ctrl s = loads the changes to tomcat. Simpleformcontroller is a superclass and to use its behavior, we use annotations. Syntactic metadata dat can be added to java source code. Classes, variables, parameter, packages, methods can be annotated. The purpose of using annotations is giving information to the compiler. There has been an xml based mapping in previous systems.
