They own the musical composition and master recording. They can do whatever they want to it. Still has your name on it, gets royalties with big time movie stuff. Song doctor - fix it for better appeal. Singer-songwriter makes for a better one-stop deal. Pressure to give up publishing to labels publishing co. Controlled composition clause, limits amount of mechanicals to be paid (typically 75%) plus a cap 10 x 75%, other writer(s) on release may be asked to lower their rate. On a cd, usually sh. 10 per song. Review that contract terms are still in force!
