Hindu educated elites had maintained power for centuries. Majority of people/most rural/poor nepalis were buddhist, while ruling class had always been hindu. Hegemony - idea of one dominant group imposing ideologies on less powerful groups. Used their influence to make other people believe their shit! Each of the 3 warring parties used propaganda to influence their impressions/vote. Korean americans - 17,741,700 asian americans in us as of 2013 (6% are korean) 7000 male laborers went to hawaii sugar plantations. 2nd wave - 1951 - korean war. 3rd wave - 1965 - us immigration act of 1965. Act got rid of quotas limiting the number of immigrants from certain countries. Men are small, weak, evil, un-masculine, geeky. Women are either docile and obedient, or dragon lady - untamed, evil women. Largest market in us are white people. White people must like /want to imitate these genres for it to be popular. Asian americans don"t really/currently have a niche.
