Diabetes mellitus (dm: more susceptible to vascular disease. Active ankle pumps creates vascular pump. Compression device on lower legs air goes in and moves. Elastic stocking - hard to put on. Anticoagulant therapy: medications, monitor inr test to see how effective. Old: bedrest 3-5 days wait for clot to dissolve with meds than move, anticoagulant medication dissolves clot, prevent new formation elastic stocking with ambulation increases blood flow.
