Scapula-thoracic sliding along ribcage: elevation = up, depression = down, abduction = out, adduction = in, protracted = rolled in, retracted = rolled out. Rom: the moving of a joint through its range of motion: amount of motion available, gentle and easy, not stretching. Prom(passive): without exertion by the subject, usually don by examiner who moved body part manually: no muscle control at all, move by device or therapist, passive stretching lean in to stretch muscles. Arom(active): patient can actively move using adjacent muscles: without assistance, just moving weight of body part, active stretching dynamic, past endpoint, plyometric.
