Different things are healthy for different people. Bmi standards are based off of white european bodies. Health needs to be accessible for everyone. Look at health and beauty as an intersectional issue. They"re treated more as an individual problem rather than a societal issue. We feel comfortable talking about other women"s bodies. People feel very policed around their appearance. Who has the benefit to lobby and make certain foods cheaper. Subsidies on meat and dairy that"s why they"re cheaper. These beauty standards are not just held to women. Dialogue needs to be created to allow men to voice their opinions regarding body and health issues. We need increased education and visual representation. Education saying it"s not bad to talk about this topic.
