BIOL-AD 101 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Surface Tension, Cliffsnotes, Paramecium
Document Summary
Abstract: to find the relationships between different living organisms, we observed human cheek, onion epidermis, and four different protists under the microscope. Like the other cell types, animal cells had a cell membrane and nucleus. The world is teeming with a plethora of organisms of all sorts in size, shape, and even more. These organisms can either be living or nonliving. However, living organisms do have discerning characteristics from that of non living organisms. Firstly, most living organisms have a higher level of chemical organization compared to non living objects. This also alludes to a division of labor within the organism starting with a group of cells, which usually work together to form a tissue. Different tissues can be subsequently organized into organs, and organs may be incorporated into systems of organs. These organ systems work to keep the organism functioning properly.
