House of burgesses in virginia passed these resolves sent them to king stated that it was important for colonies to approve taxes on their own only the colonies can tax themselves, taxes cannot be imposed on them. Stamp act congress: october 1765, all colonies (not georgia) sent delegates to nyc, first time they all met as political unit, drew up the stamp act resolutions. Stamp act repealed b/c british could not enforce it lmao pussies: colonists were boycotting british goods affected british manufacturing, unemployment and bankruptcy increased in england, in place of stamp act, made the declaratory act. Money raised from this would be used to enforce navigation acts and support admiralty courts (in place of colonial courts)
