Team collaboration: division of labor vs. shared work, coordination vs. integration. We fear conflict but we should fear excessive agreement. Perceived effectiveness higher for homogeneous groups (little conflict) than for heterogeneous ones (more conflict). Data is perceived and and interpreted in terms of the individual perceiver"s own needs, personality and previously formed cognitive patterns. We make insufficient allowances for the role of construal differences. (naive. Naive realism: the theory that the world is perceived exactly as it is. the senses provide us with direct awareness of the external world. Tenet 1 - i believe that i am a reasonable, rational person. Tenet 2 - i see the world the way that the world is. Tenet 3 - other reasonable, rational people, who are exposed to the same information and stimuli to which i"ve been exposed, will share my beliefs, thoughts.
