Conforming in terms of ideas: greatest threat when problem is difficult, youre close to consensus, you admire the team. Experiencing inhibitions, anxiety, and self presentational concerns. Conforming in terms of the rate of idea generation. Participation in social rituals: giving constant indiscriminate positive feedback. High cohesiveness: fear that disagreeing, standing out, etc. wil harm relationships. Diversity, cohesiveness and autonomy might seem critical to group innovation. Be aware of biases and vigilant about acting when they are detected. Think first about managing the decision making process before thinking about the content of the decision. Reading - how to kill a team"s creativity . High functional diversity doesn"t translate into increased innovation. Management has an important role to play in promoting innovation of teams.
