We also differ in how much we comply with our moral code. Bc dif moral codes exist makes sense to ask whether some are superior and why. Moral duty the duty to act in the right way. Epistemic duty the duty to subject one"s beliefs to the appropriate amount of crucial scrutiny. Ethics the study of the standards by which human actions can be judged right or wrong. Normative ethics seeks to establish compare and evaluate norms or standards of conducts. Applied ethics the application of normative ethical theories to practical moral problems. Concerned w behavior that can be serious consequences to the welfare of theirs. Soundness depends purely on the reasons used to support them. Moral standards should be well thought out and defendable by reference to core value.
