A civil war battle eld (in america) is considered a sacred space, as is a church. Sacred spaces have certain protocols and behaviors that everyone follows. For instance, people generally speak in low voices when visiting memorials. These spaces and the objects in them are intentional. Greeks/etc tended to have their shrines and whatnot in a certain spot with naturally appealing or special elements. Public sacred spaces are located in a place where everyone can get to it. Way back in the day, craft mattered a lot and sacred spaces were probably made with the best of the best. Lascaux and chauvet are arguably the rst sacred spaces. Stonehenge is probably a sacred space and was originally part of a much larger complex. It was an observatory and was built based on the way the sun aligns itself. Sacred spaces are a meeting point between earth and beyond . North america has a lot of sacred spaces, particularly ohio.
