Summary (100-150 words max): guyon leaves ruddymane in the care of amavia and leaves with the palmer, horseless. Braggadachio is introduced as the character who steals guyon"s horse and spear. Braggadachio eventually runs into trompart (ii. iii. 6-7) who swears featy to braggadachio. The two run into archimago who enlists their help in defeating guyon and redcrosse knight (ii. iii. 13). Archimago promises to produce a sword similar to arthur"s before flying away (ii. iii. 18). Braggadachio and trompart continue on their way before running into belphoebe (ii. iii. 22). The following nine stanzas describe belphoebe in specific detail (ii. iii. 23-31). Braggadachio and trompart mistake belphoebe for a goddess due to her beauty, leading braggadachio to attempt to make a move on her (ii. iii. 42). The two men depart as well at the end of the canto. New characters introduced: braggadachio [named (ii. iii. 10)]: braggart; pomp; show. Braggadachio is the character revealed to have stolen guyon"s horse.
