Lateral compartment of leg: - eversion of the foot and plantar lexion: fibularis (peroneus) longus- long; most supericial, fibularis (peroneus) brevis- short; most deep. Acion: plantar lexes foot; very important as the everters of foot. Posterior compartment of leg: all innervated by ibial nerve: supericial group- plantar lexion, gastrocnemius- two heads (tricep surae); most supericial; arises on the femur.
