Football after wwii: before the war, in 1935, a college team would play an nfl team at the end of each season. Ironically, the college team was usually the team that achieved victory. The 1958 nfl championship game: was the first major outbreak of professional football on tv. It had approximately 45 million viewers (according to the professor). Baltimore colts, and the game went to overtime: overall, it was a good game to watch. In place to protect local teams from losing their followers. Football as a business: teams began to merchandise their rights, teams bought in house film directors to compile highlights of players and their teams. Essentially, they were trying to make it seem like their product was the best thing available. One word; propaganda: the status of the nfl had started so low that most nfl teams did not have their own venue. In fact, the teams were tenants that played in pre-established arenas or stadiums.
