Note how there is only one circle --just sexual reproduction for (most) basidiomycetes! This particular mushroom is actually strong enough to break through asphalt! Inside basidiocarp is the formation of the thing called the basidium, where karyogamy happens (sexual reproduction), then meiotic division, then basidiospore formation. Inside the gill is where all the basidia form (on the hymenial layer).
