Document Summary
Presence of one or both of the following: depersonalization: experiences unreality, detachment, or being an outside observer with respe(cid:272)t to o(cid:374)e"s e(cid:454)perie(cid:374)(cid:272)e. Pretty odd all around: derealization: experiences of unreality or detachment in respect to surroundings. Living as if they are consciously in a dream: these can last 5-10 seconds to months, years. During these experiences, reality testing must remain intact: they are aware that they are not actually experiencing this stuff. No medical or other explanation, especially not due to effects of a substance (people after dabbing will report similar experiences) An inability to recall important autobiographical information that is inconsistent with normal forgetting: typically surrounding a trauma, totally forgetting a large or important event, usually traumatic in nature, can be localized or generalized. The symptoms cause significant distress or impairment: usually hard to know that they are forgetting the event in the first place.
