Children can have other disorders but these are the ones that are specific to childhood. Persistent deficits in social communication and social interaction across multiple contexts (this is its hallmark trait) Eye contact, empathy, they don"t reciprocate responses. Difficulty being a friend or having friends. This is seen early on in the development of the disorder. Restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior or interests by two of the following. Stereotyped or repetitive movements, objects, or speech. Either respond with an angry outburst or unresponsive/ignoring. Must be seen in early developmental period. There"s debate over if it can actually be diagnosed as early as age two. Low tolerance, can"t say what they want. Could live alone but might prefer living with someone else for comfort. Engaging with more than one sense at a time. Ex: sight and sound they need to pick one this is why they won"t look at a person while they"re talking or listening.
