In reality there was a growing gap between the rich and the poor: the ceo make 90 times what his worker made. The number of fully employed workers who made the poverty line increased by more than 50 % In 1922 33% of all african americans lived in poverty. The poor people and people of color were who they were targeting: mass incarceration started to become a big deal. It started with males and then later started with women: caused a long-term problem with uneven amounts of people being incarcerated.
