Stage 3: interpreting - how we interpret communication with others. Impressions - collections of perceptions about others that we maintain and use to interpret their behaviors. Impressions formation theory - form these impressions based on our perceptions of physical qualities, behavior, what people tell us, and what others tell us about them. Passive perception - occurs simply because our senses are operating; respond to surroundings; are perceiving others though you may not think about it.
