Modernization and industrialization are synonymous in the 18th century. New forms in energy - laissez-faire free market enterprise, when it comes to capitalism, is based on supply/demand. Britain"s improvements in agriculture mean that there"s not going to be famine, improvements in medical care too, most are healthy and fit to work and there"s a larger labor force to fill jobs within mainland britain. By 1807, there"s a political union [english, scots, welsh and irish] that contributes to the growth of the empire. Napoleon didn"t invade britain, so the british could get the upper hand by. Large scale commercialization of agriculture is a thing now, new techniques improve crop yield and new technology improves output etc. There are larger investors buying up smaller plots to create larger output from these monopolies growing. Market economy by the 18th century, kills mercantilist systems.
