Re ected appraisals- who we develop an image of ourselves and the way we think others view is. Signi cant people like family members, friends, teachers and persons who words have had major in uence over our self concept. Our self concepts having bearing on our communications bc we expect certain outcomes, an activity we think we excel in and then show con dence in ends up well because we have faith in ourselves. Occurs when a person"s expectation of an outcome and subsequent behavior, makes the outcome more likely to occur than would otherwise have been true.
