performance and to raise awareness about the importance of quality and
performance excellence as a competitive edge.
➢ Each year, up to three awards may be given in the categories of:
1. Manufacturing
2. Education
3. Health care
4. Service
5. Small business
6. Nonprofit
➢ The cost of applying for the Baldrige Award includes:
o $360 eligibility fee
o Application fee:
▪ $18,000 — manufacturing firms
▪ $9,600 — small businesses
o Site visitation fee:
▪ $50,000-$60,000 — manufacturing firms
▪ $30,000-$35,000 — small businesses
➢ Q: Why does is it so expensive?
