Document Summary

Lesson: mineral lab (finish), igneous rocks, igneous rock lab (9/6/2016) In local area: saturday october 8th 2016, meet at west campus. Mg3si4o10: pyrite (iron pyrite or fool"s gold) The rock cycle: rocks are naturally formed, consolidation materials usually composed of grains of one or more minerals, the rock cycle shows how one form of rocky material gets transformed in another. Igneous rocks: magma and extreme heat, usually starts as a liquid, weathering and erosion breaks it down to sediment. Sedimentary rocks: formed from sediments or chemically, forms in layers, can be broken apart and weathered back into sediment. Metamorphic: formed from heat where it can spread this around. Too much heat will make it igneous: can be weathered back into sedimentary. Plate tectonics/ volcanos: metamorphic rocks goes down into the crust where it is heated up to igneous, igneous is released and can be weather into sedimentary, over time sedimentary can be disrupted and formed into metamorphic.
