Document Summary

Different primates have different diets primarily based off of their digestive system, geographical location, or due to seasons. Chimpanzees and humans are fairly similar in the way of which they process food. A chimpanzee"s gut is similar to a human"s gut with which how they process fiber. Chimpanzees as well as humans speed the rate at which they process their food; by doing this, the fiber appears to then prevent carcinogens form lurking in the colon. Also, allowing the rate of speed at which the food is processed to be higher, it allows a greater quantity of food to be processed in a given amount of time. Chimps have a diet that maintain of mainly ripe fruits. Due to the chimps" digestive process, i would say that their morphological features are not that strong. Chimps cannot process fiber too good and therefore do not eat many leaves but more fruit.
