Bernini, piazza, saint peter"s, rome, 1656, 67: he does the piazza, square, open space like two open arms, double colonnade. Maderno, fa ade, st. peter"s, rome, 1606-1612: big vertical statement, new aesthetic of the period, sculpted balustrade, pilasters, different marbles. G. l bernini, baldacchino, st. peter"s, rome, 1624-33: baldachhino. Supposed to look like a woven broacde with gold threads. Bernini, pluto and proserpina, 1621-22: persephone in the underworld. Bernini, apollo and daphne, 1622-5: she is transformed into a tree, apollo is just catching up to her as she is transforming, can look at it from any point of view.
