Kin policing- policing your own (cheif takes care of it himself or dad settling dispute between his kids and deciding on punishment) Vigils of rome- police force for the population, police at all times. Praetorian guard- rst type of police force (designed to take care of the emperor and palace, not to take care of the population) Frankpledge system- started in 1066. was a community policing system where every male above the age of 12 were required to stand duty as part of night watch. Tithing- 10 families, make up the parish, giving to the community. died out when rich families started paying less rich men to stand in on night watch for them. Constables- assisted the sheriff, for every parish there were 2 constables, took care of prisoners, investigated crimes/ complaints, handed out warrants. Posse comitatus- men over the age of 15 were called out to chase down the criminal that is trying to ee.
