Translational criminology- translating the results of research in the field of criminology. Human conduct that violates the criminal laws of a state, the fed. Legalistic approach- old individuals who are in a position to politically influence lawmaking can impose their preferred definitions of criminal behavior on lawbreakers. Human activity that: violates social norms (dress, behavior in social settings, etc. ) but, can lead to negative responses from others can be very subjective, institutionalized deviants, doesn"t always mean bad may not deal. Types of deviants with public a lot: rare deviants: most people, ex. Drug addicts: underage drinking and making bad decisions. Criminalize behaviors when: members of a society agree they are necessary, particularly those in power.
