Document Summary

In a popular call of duty: modern warfare ii commercial, the rhetor uses the sexual innuendo, sarcasm, and comedy to draw their audience in. This type of fallacy is known as the bandwagon argument. It succumbs to the idea of popularity and social acceptance; the choice of words makes the listener/viewed want to know exactly what everyone is doing and how they can do it too. The argument uses faulty logic because not everybody plays the game, therefore it is not as popular as being advertised; i, for one, have never played the game. A better argument would be to emphasize its popularity in general with the gaming community. Slippery slope arguments are perhaps the most common type of rhetorical fallacies from what i have seen on various media outlets. Direct tv is definitely no stranger to the world of slippery slope fallacies.
