Despite the broad right to be forgotten as described in the article, it"s very possible that something like this could exist in the united states for many reasons. For example, a convicted felon posted on his facebook the fact that he stole from a convenient store and got away with it, but then got arrested because of that. It then made news headlines and google to this day has the link up for anyone to access. The issue here isn"t whether the united states should protect the felons dignity over google"s right to free speech because it was originally the felon"s freedom of speech that got him arrested. By creating this right, you are allowing citizens who would normally have a challenging time convincing employers to overlook their past crimes, will now be able to have a fair chance to compete with others to earn a job. Lastly, the united states strongly believes in market competition.
