The law of effect- the behavior you are rewarded for is more likely to recur. You can train animals to do unnatural behaviors. Bear can sit in a chair, play trumpet. This are reinforcers that guide the current behavior closer to the desired behavior. For example, if you want a dog to roll over, you give it treats and repeat the action until it finally learns to roll over. Can train animals to discriminate different types of objects or events. For example, pigeons can tell the difference between flowers, words, cars, and people. They can even tell the difference between classical music. Any event that allows a behavior to strengthen as an actio follows. Not necessarily good, but increasing behaviors by presenting positive stimuli. Not necessarily bad, increasing behaviors by removing negative stimuli.
