This interested archaeologists and several scientists who wanted to take advantage of this historical treasure. However, they were soon confronted with controversy, mainly from native americans who believed these were the remains of their ancestor. This causes some problems because, under the native american graves protection and repatriation. Act, native americans can claim these bones as their own and bury them however they wish. However, to do this, the kennewick man had to have been definitely a descendant of native americans. Native americans arrived in north america through the land bridge from asia. So, what is to be said when james chatters clai(cid:373)ed that the ke(cid:374)(cid:374)e(cid:449)i(cid:272)k (cid:373)a(cid:374) prese(cid:374)ted (cid:862)cau(cid:272)asoid(cid:863) characteristics. Thus, it would suggest that europeans were inhabiting north america before columbus.
