Document Summary

Temporal summation: single input fires at high frequency. Removal from synapse by transport proteins (reuptake) and or broken down by enzymes. When it binds to its receptor, it causes depolarization almost all the time. Project within and between brain areas to spinal cord. Glutamate is reuptook by a glial cell and converted back into glutamine. When it binds to its receptor it causes hyperpolarization. Gaba is made from glutamate from the krebs cycle. Glucose --> krebs cycle --> glutamergic acid Gaba recycling: released from presynpatic terminal then reuptake into the same neuron. Only nt of the main ones that is not an amino acid nor made from amino acids. Acetyl coa + choline + (choline transferase)------>ach ----- (degradation)---> acetylcholinesterase ---> acetate + choline. Just use the fucking diagram from the slides. A neuron will use either one of these 3 as their main one, but not all 3. Degradation: reuptake by dat, mao enzyme, comt enzyme.
