Should not guide the answers of the witness. Ci utilizes funnel approach (open closed questions: phase iv: closure. Shown to be effective in extensive research compared to standard police interview. Increases amount of correct info but may lead to incorrect info through overall increased amount of info. It works but the police may not often used it is not required. Follow up questions, open-ended, let the witness speak freely, they are the expert.
