Detailed relief carving on his breast plate: center shows diplomatic victory creating peace, canopy of heavens showing celestial significance, bottom shows personification of earth (lounging human figure holding a cornucopia) Baby used as a support (cupid: son of venus (dolphin, support gives reference to venus and aeneas and gives augustus legitimization of ruling. Ara pacis augustae (altar of augustan peace), 13-9 bce, early roman empire. Obelisk was originally right by it (taken from the customs of ancient egypt when they conquered that area)
