Valerie solanas believed that men are simply trying to be woman. Major goals: gender : creation of awareness about the systematic trivialization of people"s concerns due to gendered behavior, praxis : advocacy for change - what can we do to make equitable society. Changing rules so pregnant people cannot be fired for being pregnant. Masculine is better than feminine qualities in the workplace. Masculine style of talk: fewer abstractions, focus on doing not feeling, communication to accomplish something, talk is secondary, establishes autonomy and independence. Feminine style of talk: comm. to establish relationships, comm. to establish support, more edges, qualifiers, instead of saying it"s totally going to be warmer tomorrow, to say it may be warmer tomorrow, maintains conversation flow. Being confident and wrong>being conscience and right. Focus about actions outside home: woman stories. Liberal feminist: pursue legal solutions where gender behaviors are being penalized ie. maternal leave. Gendered behaviors are not necessarily connected to sex.
