Document Summary
Using grading scale points as the numbers in rubrics. The number of grading points for each evaluative criterion can differ, and should be tied to each criterion"s centrality to the standards being assessed. Divide each evaluative criterion into performance levels that are likely to be reliably distinguishable. All evaluative criteria do not need to be divided into the same number of performance levels [humphrey & heldsinger, 2014; tierney & simon, 2004]. Background information a directly relevant to the experiment performed, and is written in a scientific language, includes internal citation. Hypothesis (a) is a stated prediction of experimental results that (b) is logical, given the background information. Materials (a) have quantities stated in metric units, (b) are well-chosen from those available (if applicable) Procedure (a) is controlled (one variable) to the extent possible, and free of correctable error; (b) is summarized in enough detail that other chemists could replicate the experiment.
