Critical period hypothesis: golden age where people can learn languages much easier than any other language. Case of the 2 kids that created their own language. Means that there are objective truths and things that will always be agreed upon. Language for the sake of making understanding the truths easier. Who we interact with (micro perspective) develops who we think we are. People who say that we"re smart leads us to think we"re smart, and vice versa. People who want us to do a certain thing or behavior a certain ways leads us to do so. We know us by the means in which others perceive us. Draw general conclusion from how we appear to others. Develop our own identity in doing so.
