Known as disability oppression the systematic oppression that disadvantages people with disabilities while giving privilege to those who do not currently have any disabilities. Disability: a disability can result from social constructs that do not take into account the presence/inclusion of people with non-typical physical, emotional, intellectual, or social needs. Temporarily able bodied: since anyone can become disabled so people without any current disabilities may be referred to as temporarily able bodied to acknowledge that our identities as people with/without disabilities are not always permanent. Stigma: remain widespread assumptions that people with disabilities are inferior to those without disabilities and that people with disabilities are broadly incapable and a burden on families in society. Individuals with disabilities may be reluctant to acquire a diagnosis, because this can lead to an association with the label of disabled which can feel stigmatizing. Disability is a social definition rather than a trait of the individual.
