Focus is on lalla"s bad decisions compared to the other characters. Good is not close to all the bad she has done. Uses same gun that husband used to kill himself to shoot diseased cow. Hides a dead body under her neighbors bed. Shows internal conflict and disconnect from reality. No large climax: repeated events, little structure. Different points in time proceeds linear in time. Follows one character lalla through entire short story. A mix between non-fiction and fictional facts. Main character is unreliable and narrator is reliable. Reveals more about the grandmother than the reader can follow. Time has a different sense of structure. Harder for reader to connect to character. Focus on death and how much lalla depends on alcohol.
