When it comes to determining a person or a population"s health, we must look outside of. Cultural journal #2 just their access to healthcare. There are various social determinants of health that play a much larger role including education, socioeconomic status, support systems, and healthy environments. These other factors of health must be looked at and weighed as much as someone"s access to healthcare. There are numerous ways that social determinants of health can be addressed by physical therapists. As a future pt, i could work with various nonprofit organizations to provide care to underserved populations. I could volunteer some of my time on the weekends or weeknights, when i am not at the clinic, to serve other populations. As well as volunteering my services as a pt, i could volunteer my services as a human being looking to help others.
