Often talked about ones- serotonin, gaba, norepinephrine, dopamine, etc. Some medications can target neurotransmitters see table 2. 1 in textbook for neurotransmitter table. Started by freud- not as thoroughly studied as other approaches. Adolescent version addresses developmental issues such as separation from parents, development of romantic relationships, and initial experience with death of a relationship or friend.
