Community = association of populations that live and interact in same place at same time (many species) Resources = anything from environment that meets the needs of a particular species. Limiting resource = a resource in scarce supply. Habitat = location where a species lives its life. Ecological niche (job) = sum of species" use of biotic and abiotic resources. Niche potentially occupied by that species = broad. Niche actually occupied by that species = more narrow. Identical ecological niches competing same limiting resources cannot coexist. Raised separately => each population reach to k. Grown together => compete for same resources => one go extinct. One species exclude other species from part of its fundamental niche. Lizard = same resources or they can become better at using specific resources = character displacement. Community ecology page 1 specific resources = character displacement. Predation are species, the predators, kills and eats the prey. Adaptations by predators for finding and capturing prey.
