Behavior is: action carried out by muscles under control of nervous system, adaptations that aid survival, product of natural selection on phenotype, maximizes fitness. 2: how do animal"s experiences influence response, ultimate causation. Communication is the transmission and reception of mutually recognizable signals. Honeybee dance language round dance food is close. Innate behavior = does not vary among individuals born that way. Other behaviors vary with experience and differ between individuals. Learning = modification of behavior resulting from specific experiences. Ex: niko tinbergen digger wasps associations between experiences.
